Your Core Responsibilities
The Clinical Account Manager will be responsible for tactical and strategic support of sales and marketing efforts, focusing on clinical application and product training for Moon Surgical prospects and established customers. This includes clinical and strategic implementation and growth of Maestro Programs with engaged customers throughout the US. The role will also involve collaborating with sales and marketing teams to generate new interest in Maestro technology and the program.
The Clinical Account Manager will actively improve training programs and support customer training and sales initiatives. Coordinate product training for customers and sales agents, key presentations, and demonstrations. Build a positive and productive customer relationship and help develop, refine, and focus the company's commercial efforts.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical sales and surgical support experience with proven capability in expanding the utilization of novel, disruptive medical/surgical technologies. The ideal candidate should have experience in the OR, understanding of the laparoscopic surgery market with emphasis on general surgery and/or surgical robotics. The role will interface with team members across the company and report to the Area Vice President within the Commercial organization.

Your Day-to-day Activities
Product and Training Support
- Develop the strong clinical acumen necessary to articulate and sell the value of Maestro robotic technology.
- Educate surgeons and staff on the clinical benefits of Maestro and deliver established messaging and best practices with confidence, enthusiasm, and respect.
- Train and guide surgeons and facility staff in using Maestro ahead of the case, during set-up, and within the case to ensure efficient and successful surgical outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the training program and implement improvements as necessary. This includes spending time with surgeons in the OR post-training to assess on-the-job competence and receive additional feedback.
- Build and develop solid clinical acumen around MIS, Enabling technologies, robotics, and workflows.
- Become the Maestro expert across all primary OR procedures to assist in developing surgical teams.
- Manage, plan, and execute Maestro installations and case coverage.
- Develop a Maestro surgical plan for each surgical team to support independent use of the technology.
- Drive utilization of the Maestro system by collaborating with surgical teams to support system usage.
- Expand user base at assigned sites with additional surgeons and/or specialties and clinical indications.
- Collaborating with the AVP, work with senior hospital staff and key surgeons to develop and execute effective integration of Maestro at new customer sites, while ensuring ongoing commitment to the system.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and software issues with the Maestro system.
- Providing customer and account technical support as needed.
- Adhering to all policies and SOPs regarding interaction with HCPs, product handling and complaints, expense reporting, sales activities, and training.
- Drive continuous user base expansion by working with key hospital staff and thought leaders to develop a qualified lead funnel. Regular activities consist of formal presentations, informal events, and get-togethers.
- Contribute to the development of “reasons to believe” documents and materials, leveraging data collected during the registry
- Own day-to-day coordination of account activities and necessary tasks to support procedures, including managing logistics, inventory, training, and deployment of product updates.
- Effectively work cross-functionally with Moon Surgical Team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Resolve customer issues or complaints, and relay customer feedback promptly.
Sales Support
- Effectively sell the clinical, economic and strategic value of Maestro to build market interest and support sales pipeline development.
- Partner with sales and marketing leaders to prospect, engage, build relationships and support efforts with new customers to meet sales objectives.
- Develop and execute sales strategies in the market to drive expansion of existing Maestro programs
- Assist in product demonstrations and evaluations to onboard new hospital and surgery center sites and drive unit sales by pursuing and obtaining leadership and/or value committee approvals.
- Support the execution of the sales plan to grow product utilization and increase volume with current and potential surgeons.
How You’ll Fit In
This role reports to the Area Vice President of Sales - West. You will work closely with internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure the product fully captures the user needs and adapts to the clinical environment, while being a vital liaison between the clinical and sales teams.
🧭 Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or science-related field.
- 3+ years of experience in medical device sales or relevant fields
- Must live near a major US airport
- Experience and interest in the laparoscopic and/or surgical robotics space. Specific soft tissue (general, gynecologic, urologic, thoracic) surgery experience/exposure preferred
- Extensive time spent in the operating room supporting surgeons
- Strong network within regional and national US health systems
- Self-starter with ability to function in a rapidly evolving startup environment
- Ability to switch between strategic and tactical roles
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills
- Excellent organization and communication skills with tools like Notion, Slack, and Salesforce
