🎉 The Role

Your Core Responsibilities

As a Robotics Engineer Intern, you will work on various engineering tasks to enhance the functionality and performance of the Maestro system. Your work will directly contribute to the design, testing, and calibration of our robotic system, which will improve precision, accuracy, and overall system performance and robustness. This position requires a minimum of three days of on-site presence per week in Paris, France.

Your Day-to-day Activities

Depending on project needs and your background, responsibilities may include:

• Robotic Software Development: Implement and integrate new software features for the Maestro system, including:
  • Motion planning with collision avoidance
  • Inverse kinematics and redundancy resolution
  • Human–robot interaction algorithms
• Test Fixture Development: Design and implement software and hardware test fixtures to characterize robotic arm performance for design verification and manufacturing-level testing.
• Calibration System Development: Develop calibration methods and tooling to improve position accuracy and force/torque sensing of robotic arms.
• Embedded Software Development: Develop low-level software for embedded microprocessors to support new algorithms and system capabilities on the robotic platform.

How You’ll Fit In

You will work among our Robotic and Controls team, building algorithm to control or optimize robotic arm motion to help surgeons treats thousands of patients

🧭 Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

• Master’s or PhD student (or equivalent) in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong background in robotics algorithms, sensor integration, and hardware–software interaction
• Experience or familiarity with robotic arm calibration and/or performance testing
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative R&D team
